Signalix

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 30 October 2026

In short: we keep only what the server needs to run. Messages in encrypted chats can't be read by us. We don't sell your data, show ads, or track you across the web.

1. Who we are

Signalix Messenger (signalix.chat) is a Matrix-based messaging service operated by the Signalix team. We are the data controller for personal data processed on the Signalix server. Contact: support@signalix.chat.

2. What data we process

3. Encryption

Direct chats and private rooms are end-to-end encrypted by default in Element X and the Signalix web app. In encrypted chats, the content of your messages and files is encrypted on your device, and we cannot read it. Public or unencrypted rooms are stored on the server in readable form, so please don't share sensitive information there.

If you lose all your devices and your recovery key, we cannot recover your encrypted messages.

4. Why we process your data

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling or selling to third parties.

5. Federation with other Matrix servers

Matrix is a federated network. If you talk with users on other servers, or join rooms hosted elsewhere, copies of your messages, display name and avatar are sent to those servers. They are run by other people and are covered by their own privacy policies, not ours. Messages already sent to other servers can't be deleted from them by us.

6. Who else handles your data

7. How long we keep data

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

To use any of these rights, email support@signalix.chat. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

9. Cookies

This website doesn't use tracking or advertising cookies. The web messenger stores login and encryption data in your browser so you stay signed in.

10. Age

Signalix is not intended for children under 16.

11. Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will let users know in advance.
