Terms of Service
Last updated: 30 October 2026
In short: be respectful, don't break the law, and don't abuse the server. Signalix is provided as is, and we can close accounts that break these rules.
1. About these terms
These terms apply to your use of Signalix Messenger (signalix.chat), operated by the Signalix team. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
2. Who can use Signalix
- You must be at least 16 years old.
- You are responsible for your account and for keeping your password and recovery key safe.
- One person may not use multiple accounts to get around a suspension or ban.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Signalix to:
- break any applicable law;
- share content that sexually exploits children, promotes terrorism, or incites violence;
- harass, threaten or impersonate other people;
- send spam, scams, phishing or malware;
- infringe other people's copyright or other rights;
- attack, overload, scan or try to gain unauthorized access to the server or other users' accounts;
- run automated accounts (bots) that disrupt other users, unless we have agreed to it.
4. Your content
You own the messages and files you send. You give us only the permission needed to store and deliver them to the people and servers you send them to. We don't use your content for any other purpose.
Because encrypted messages can't be read by us, we usually act on reports from users. If you see content that breaks these rules, report it in the app or email support@signalix.chat.
5. Other Matrix servers
Signalix is part of the federated Matrix network. Rooms and users on other servers are not controlled by us, and we aren't responsible for their content or how they handle your data.
6. Suspension and termination
We may warn, suspend or deactivate accounts that break these terms, or that put the service or other users at risk. Where reasonable, we will tell you why. You can stop using Signalix and deactivate your account at any time.
7. Availability
We work to keep Signalix running reliably, but the service is provided "as is" and without guarantees of uptime. We may change features, perform maintenance, or discontinue the service. If we shut down the service, we will try to give users reasonable notice so they can move to another server.
Please keep your recovery key safe. We can't restore encrypted message history if it is lost.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect damages, loss of data, or loss of profits arising from your use of Signalix. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited under applicable law, or your rights as a consumer.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the country where Signalix is operated. If you use Signalix as a consumer, you also keep any mandatory protections you have under the laws of the country where you live.
If you have a problem with Signalix, please contact us at support@signalix.chat first. We'll try to resolve it informally before anything else.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, notify users in advance. If you keep using Signalix after the changes take effect, you accept the new terms.
